AFTERCARE instructions
Will I be using Saniderm?
With some tattoos, especially the more delicate ones, or if you’re already aware that you’re allergic to adhesives, I won’t use Saniderm and opt for a plastic film to be left for no more than 4 hours. When using Saniderm, you can leave it on for 3 days.
How long should I leave on the Saniderm?
If you don’t feel any sort of irritation, see any water get inside the bandage or the bandage begins to peel off and reached the tattoo, then you can leave it on for 3 days. You can always take it off before and start the routine of washing and putting the ointment on.
Once I take the bandage off, how often should I wash/put ointment on?
Less is more, so washing it twice a day and after strenuous activity is more than enough. Only put on the ointment when the skin is feeling dry with the smallest dot and massage it in. Your skin should be hydrated but not moist. You should keep up with this routine until the tattoo is fully healed after two weeks.
If I notice any fading, what should I do?
With fine line tattoos, there is much less pigment in the skin than a bold tattoo so they’re very delicate. Once its a month settled, a touch up can be scheduled if needed. I always offer a complimentary touch up for the first year. In some areas, like hands, feet, wrist and ankles touch ups can be more common which will always be advise during the appointment!
