Frequently Asked Questions

TATTOO STYLE + HEALING

How does fine line tattooing differ from bold fine?

Fine line tattoos hold less pigment in their lines, so they heal lighter and look more delicate. They´re soft and subtle in this technique, so if yoúd prefer your tattoo to heal darker I would recommend a thicker line or shading to give it dimension.

What style is your preference?

I mostly do fine line tattoos, very delicate in nature. My style is very illustrative realistic, so very similar to vintage scientific illustrations. I tend to get bored easily so my style varies from minimal, detailed black and grey, full illustrative color.

Will my tattoo fade over time?

All tattoos fade to a certain degree since our body is processing the pigment over the years. Repeat sun exposure, especially sunburns, makes the skin need to heal the irritation, it also eats away at the pigment. Since fine line naturally have less pigment than bolder tattoos, SPF is a must to protect the details and keep the pigment from breaking down.

Can I get it touched up if it fades?

Definitely, but keep in mind each touch up adds more pigment, making the lines thicker once it settles. I offer a complimentary touch up within the first year.

Are finger tattoos harder to heal?

Yes! The skin on hands and feet regenerate faster and are prone to friction, from washing hands, doing daily tasks, etc. And when the design is more fine line, it can sometimes require multiple touch ups. I offer a complimentary touch up for the first year but any touch ups following that will be a $40 service charge.

Designs are shown the day of your appointment, but I always plan for more than enough time to make any changes. I usually come up with more than one option depending on the design. I aim to keep it super stress-free and collaborative!
